Stafford Beer brought the first computer into business with an Italian machine onto the shop floor of British Steel. He then brought a minicomputer to Chile in 1972 in order to implement Bayesian computations to make more timely estimates in the decision making of industrial economy.
Beer himself fostered early digital strategies in production, communication and useful actionable social measurements.
He was also concerned with the misapplication of computer-based computation.
